I have been talking to your program for a while. During our discussions we have plenty of common positions and you have complimented me a number of times. Most of my topics were dedicated to improve understanding and to reduce tension or confrontation. Some of those items were about Australian life and society too.

However, lately I am unable to talk to you as I cannot pass through your switch board! I do not know if it is because of you, your producer or the station management!!

The week before last, on Saturday morning your producer rang me straight away and then kept me hanging for three hours. The following day (Sunday) when I recalled I inquired about the unusual behavior displayed by him the previous night, he told me, “I have tried three different phones and you are un-contactable.” Never the less, I rang him once more on Sunday morning, he agreed to call me back which he did, yet he placed me on hold after he had called me. He told me three times on this occasion, “you are next Faruque,” but on this occasion similar to the others I was not put to air and spoke to no one.

I therefore would like to know, who is silencing me? Is it you, your producer or your management?

Dear Jason

Today I went to TCS Head Quarters located at Alexandria. This is also the Head Quarters of many associates of the taxi mafia including Combined Communication Network.

If you enter in to that property any thinking person would gain the impression that all taxi drivers are somehow criminals and terrorists! Many overly directing and unnecessary signs are shown such as “do not enter", "taxi drivers not allowed beyond this point" etc. etc. Control, control, control they silently scream. After all, “You’re only taxi drivers…don’t-you-know?” is the unspoken yet underlying message. The reality is this network and all other taxi networks survive on the taxi drivers’ blood, sweat and tears!

Taxi drivers existed before taxi networks even came into being. The taxi networks were and are created to serve the needs of the taxi driver members including the drivers that drive the vehicles and pay accordingly to do so. So that in turn the operator or owner then pays the taxi network to service all of the drivers that are involved.

Most importantly, I went there to fix my radio which is a life line for taxi drivers! I noticed ten taxis were waiting to be fixed but not one human being was available to attend these taxis or drivers!! In the midst of all of this I noticed one little guy, possibly suffering from sleep deprivation running around like a headless chook.

Now under the NSW legislations taxis must be attached to a Radio Network and pay whatever money those networks demand. Yet, thanks to the NSW Labor Party (RIGHT WING), no law compels these radio networks to do the right thing in respect to them competently and respectfully servicing the persons and stakeholders that allowed those very networks to continue to function.

Please let us know why taxi drivers have to put up with this kind of idiocy, non service and dictatorial controlling?

In frustration I am now emailing the information which was the subject of my call directly to you. You neither read my email on air nor did your producer ring me back as she said she would, I ask are those actions or rather lack of action because of the noticeable taxi network related advertising that is broadcast on your network? Jason where is the independence and fair mindedness that absolutely must be the foundation for your show and 2GB’s raison de etre?

If the public senses even a skerrick of doubt as to your credibility, integrity and championing of the truth it’s all over Red Rover.

Would you like to apply a size 12 boot to the posterior of your producer for failing to fulfill a clear commitment to me or would you personally like to claim responsibility for this situation?

The cabbie went on to say, “you and your mother must volunteer yourselves to the nearest gas chamber because it is long over due”. He also added, “any women dare to criticise Islam based on blatantly deliberate prejudice and bigotry must be stoned to death”.

The dogfight ensued.

2. Based on that ugly piece of work mentioned above, millions of stories/reports were written, movies/documentaries were made to vilify Muslims and Arabs. Now you are trying to educate me with your ill-gotten wealth of knowledge is just wrong.
3. The Muslims used to protect ungrateful Jews like you throughout history and you lot are repaying them according to the well-known and infamous Jewish way based on your deliberate and shameless prejudice and bigotry and thereby paving your way to the gas chamber.
4. In India they used to burn women alive, the Europeans used to torture and kill women for a variety of reasons including witch hunt and people of many other parts of the world used to bury their own baby daughters live. It was the prophet Muhammad whom you despise ordered to stop these barbaric practices and saved women, as well as ensured women’s rights contrary to your false and vindictive claims based on dogmatic propaganda made in Israel.

Union's secret 'slush fund' to help ALP

ONE of Australia's most powerful trade unions has been accused of extorting money from transport companies and double-crossing its own members.The Transport Workers Union (TWU) is accused of extracting funds from companies and funnelling them into a slush fund, which was in turn used to help elect NSW Labor MPs. The allegations, to be revealed on today's Sunday program, are likely to put the future of TWU federal secretary and Labor powerbroker Tony Sheldon in doubt and trigger calls for a police investigation.

The Sunday Telegraph was shown a preview of the story. The TWU represents around 85,000 members who work in aviation, oil, waste management, gas, road transport, passenger vehicles and freight logistics. Past and serving union members have raised serious questions about the operation of the union, claiming its prime objective was to help the Labor Party. Among the damning allegations levelled at the TWU is the claim union officials were told to harass transport firms to contribute to the slush fund, which is really called the Transport Industry Training, Education and Industrial Rights Council. It is described by the union as a body set up to "help protect workers against unscrupulous employers'', but a number of union whistleblowers have alleged the council is a front for a slush fund used to help ALP candidates and increase the power of union officals.

A report by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, released this month, has confirmed that the council never meets. The report was commissioned by the union following an earlier report by the Sunday program, which raised questions on the function of the fund. The program revealed transport and labor hire companies had paid almost $2 million into the fund in the years leading up to 2005.

Union whistleblower Tony O'Donnell alleges union officials were ordered to perform time-consuming company inspections for alleged breaches of workplace safety laws until they agreed to pay into the fund. "If they didn't allow you entry, you'd have them over a breach of the law,'' Mr O'Donnell said. "A legitimate inspection can bring a small business to a grinding halt, a medium business pretty close to it ... I could ask for records over the last five years. "We were told of the companies the union wanted to target. We just did what we were told.'' Mr O'Donnell alleged the inspections stopped once the company co-operated with the union. Among the companies named by Mr O'Donnell was Allied Transport - a major courier company - which he claimed should have warranted the attention of the union for alleged underpayments. Companies that co-operated with the union were allegedly rewarded with contracts that included significantly discounted pay and entitlements for workers.

In many cases, Mr O'Donnell said union officials negotiating on behalf of workers for better pay and conditions were often not aware of secondary deals having been done between the company and union in relation to contributions to the fund. When the key allegations were yesterday put to the union by The Sunday Telegraph, a TWU spokesman would only address the inspections, claiming they were necessary to ensure the safe operations of trucking companies. He claimed the whistleblowers were trying to start a rival union.
